Wealdstone FC beat North Greenford United in the second round of the Middlesex Senior Cup on Wednesday night.
The home side struggling during the first half to get going, but did manage to create a number of efforts on goal.
Charlie Mpi was guilty of wasting a couple them, one of which he fired wide after a decent pass fed by new loan signing Lee Protheroe. However, Mpi made up for the lost chances later on.
United’s players did not make the same mistake when given the chance. In the 15th minute, Luc Kenny scored spectacularly from long range to give the visitors the advantage.
Wealdstone continued to press on, as both sides battled to win control of the ball. Gordon Bartlett’s side enjoyed plenty of possession, but failed to create any clear chances before the break.

Wealdstone looked like a different side as the second half got underway, forcing North Greenford into making mistakes across the pitch.
The home side got their reward shortly afterwards, when some good work from Mpi saw him level up the scores in the 51st minute.
The goal had obviously given Wealdstone, and Mpi in particular, the confidence to take the game to their opponents.
The striker grabbed his second goal of the night in the 75th minute, after good work from new loan signing Sam Corcoran. The Colchester midfield’s good work on the edge of the box allowed Mpi to flick the ball past the United ‘keeper, to make the score 2-1 to Wealdstone.
The game petered out after that, with a lot of substitutions breaking up the momentum.
